LOPES LATELY is a student-run production by the GCU Future Broadcasters club at Grand Canyon University.

Frustrated by poetry's often vague language, I aim to convey my thoughts clearly, encouraging readers to interpret my writing freely while acknowledging that both my original meanings and self-perceptions evolve, ultimately using poetry as a means of exploring complexity without the pressure of clarity.

A peaceful setting contrasts with urgent discussions about the implications of military-grade surveillance on the public. Conversations reveal feelings of busyness and the need to gather information for a significant story. An ethical debate unfolds, questioning the justification of such surveillance as security without consent, leading to concerns about the serious implications of running a particular story.

In this heartfelt short film, we follow the journey of a young man whose dreams of love take an unexpected turn. After pouring his heart out and proposing to the girl of his dreams, he faces rejection that leaves him shattered. Just when he thinks all is lost, fate intervenes in the form of a charming waitress who brings new light into his life.
